Canadian aerospace manufacturer Bombardier has announced plans to expand its Singapore Service Centre at JTC's Seletar Aerospace Park with a new 250,000 sq ft facility, nearly doubling its existing operational footprint in the region, as reported by BNN Bloomberg.
The new facility represents a total planned investment of approximately SGD$100 million (€70 million) by a local developer, complementing Bombardier's existing service centre. Construction is planned to begin in the second half of 2026, with operations expected to commence in the second half of 2028.
Once operational, the facility will offer scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications, avionics installations, and 24/7 aircraft-on-ground support. It will also house a Component Repair and Overhaul workshop and support aircraft recompletion activities including paint and interior finishing.
Christine Wong, assistant CEO of JTC, said the expansion reinforces Singapore's position as a leading business aviation hub, adding that Seletar Aerospace Park continues to enable industry participants to grow their regional presence, expand their capabilities, and deliver high-value services from Singapore.
Singapore already plays a central role in Bombardier's regional network, hosting one of the company's Customer Response Centres and its largest regional parts hub. The new facility marks Bombardier's third development at Seletar Aerospace Park since 2014.
Bombardier has also joined A*STAR's Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre as an anchor member to accelerate the use of digitalisation, AI, and automation in its maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations, signalling an intent to embed technology-driven efficiency into the expanded facility from the outset.
Cindy Koh, executive vice president of Singapore's Economic Development Board, said the investment would add new MRO and recompletion capabilities for next-generation business aircraft and further strengthen Singapore's standing as a premier aerospace hub in Asia.
Bombardier's broader APAC services footprint includes a service centre in Melbourne, Australia, and a jointly owned facility in Tianjin, China. The Singapore expansion positions the company to meet growing demand for business aviation MRO services across the Asia-Pacific region, where business jet utilisation has continued to rise in the years following the pandemic.
