Highlighted for its leadership in innovative practices last year, Viatris Little Island secured the Operational Excellence in Manufacturing Award at the Operational Excellence Awards 2025, celebrated for its transformative Integrated Lean Management System programme that has reshaped operations, enhanced efficiency, and strengthened performance across the site.
Judges commended the team for embedding a culture of operational excellence throughout the organisation. Strategic adoption of Lean tools, visual management techniques, and proactive quality initiatives, including Human Error Prevention measures and Yellow Belt certification, demonstrated a structured and collaborative approach to continuous improvement. These initiatives delivered tangible, measurable outcomes while fostering lasting cultural change.
“This entrant impressed our judges with a deeply embedded culture of Operational Excellence and strong site-wide engagement. Their structured, hands-on approach to Lean, combined with visible improvements in quality and performance, illustrates how operational discipline can drive sustained, world-class results,” the judging panel said.
The recognition reflects broader trends across the Operational Excellence Awards, where winners are increasingly distinguished by the ability to combine innovative processes, measurable impact, and cultural transformation. Viatris Little Island’s achievement highlights how operational rigor, staff engagement, and disciplined Lean practices can set a benchmark in manufacturing excellence.
Who will define the next benchmark for operational excellence in manufacturing? Entries for the 2026 awards will close on 6 February, with finalists to be announced on 25 March, culminating in the gala on 27 May 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry.
