US flooring retailer Lumber Liquidators is relocating its corporate headquarters and warehousing operations from Richmond, Virginia to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, in a move designed to consolidate supply chain and distribution operations with its parent company, F9 Brands, creating 76 jobs and investing $32.4 million (€28.2 million) in Lawrence County.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development reported that the project will align Lumber Liquidators' shipping schedules and distribution efforts with F9 Brands' existing Lawrenceburg operation, which currently operates under the Cabinets To Go brand.
Founded in Boston in 1993 and now operating more than 200 stores across the US, Lumber Liquidators specialises in waterproof and hardwood flooring, offering more than 300 varieties across its national retail network.
Tom Sullivan, founder and chairman of Lumber Liquidators, said: "After moving our Cabinets To Go distribution and headquarters to Lawrenceburg in 2016, we found Tennessee to be a great place to operate a growing business. We are excited to now add Lumber Liquidators national distribution to the area, which will bring our two brands together into one location, providing greater operational efficiency and allowing us to continue to offer customers the best price on cabinets and flooring."
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee welcomed the relocation, saying the state's highly skilled workforce would serve the business well and that the move would create greater opportunity for families across the region.
Deputy Governor and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter said the decision by F9 Brands to relocate Lumber Liquidators to Lawrenceburg reflects continued confidence in Tennessee's business climate, low-tax environment, and strong alignment among stakeholders.
