UAE airline Emirates has partnered with OpenAI to deploy AI technologies across its operations, marking a major step in operational excellence for the aviation sector.

The collaboration centres on the enterprise-wide use of ChatGPT Enterprise to improve internal workflows and customer interactions.

AI will be embedded across multiple departments to streamline ticketing, check-in, flight scheduling, and baggage handling. By analysing large datasets and making real-time decisions, these systems are expected to reduce delays and optimise airport operations, supporting both efficiency and reliability.

Customer engagement is also set to benefit. AI-powered tools will enable faster, more accurate responses to inquiries, personalised recommendations, and smoother booking experiences. Emirates aims to deliver a more seamless travel journey, enhancing satisfaction while freeing staff to focus on value-added service.

The partnership includes tailored AI literacy programmes, equipping employees with skills to leverage these technologies effectively. An AI Centre of Excellence will be established to drive research, innovation, and continuous development of AI solutions across the airline. An internal network of AI champions will facilitate knowledge sharing and adoption throughout the organisation.

Beyond immediate operational improvements, Emirates plans to explore advanced applications, including predictive maintenance, personalisation of in-flight entertainment, and resource optimisation.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE government’s broader strategy to lead in AI adoption across industries. Initiatives such as AI Lab UAE and Stargate AI support the integration of AI in aviation, healthcare, and finance, reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for innovation.
