Italian health-tech company Dedalus has opened a new Irish headquarters in Dublin's Northwood Business Park as it continues a €10 million investment programme in Ireland. The expansion strengthens the company's operational capacity, research and development activities, and technology delivery for the Irish healthcare system and wider European business.
In an article by Silicon Republic, the new headquarters follows Dedalus's announcement last December of a €10 million investment and plans to create 100 jobs in Ireland over four years. The company said the expansion reflects its long-term commitment to innovation, talent development and operational growth.
Headquartered in Florence, Italy, Dedalus has worked with the Irish healthcare system for more than 30 years, providing software for electronic patient records, laboratory systems and diagnostics. Its Irish business also operates the Swiftqueue healthcare appointments platform, which the company said manages more than four million medical appointments annually across Ireland.
Globally, Dedalus provides software to more than 7,500 healthcare organisations and 5,700 laboratories and diagnostic centres. According to the company, its Irish expansion is focused on research, development and innovation to increase local expertise while supporting both domestic healthcare services and wider European operations.
Cathy McCartan, executive director at Dedalus Ireland, said: “The opening of our new Irish headquarters marks an exciting new chapter for Dedalus in Ireland. Following the Taoiseach’s announcement of our €10m Irish expansion strategy, this reflects our continued commitment to Ireland as a key location for innovation, talent and growth.”
She added: “We are proud of our long-standing partnership with the Irish healthcare system and remain committed to supporting its digital transformation, contributing to Dedalus’s wider European operations from our growing Irish base.”
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke said: “Dedalus’s €10m investment and commitment to creating 100 high-value jobs is a strong endorsement of the exceptional talent and expertise available here. As healthcare systems increasingly embrace digital technologies to improve patient outcomes and service delivery, companies like Dedalus are playing an important role in driving that transformation.”
