Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of India’s leading integrated energy enterprises, has rolled out the nationwide ‘Zero Ka Dum’ (ZKD) initiative, a third-party certification programme designed to guarantee defect-free LPG cylinders and elevate operational standards.
The programme audits every stage of LPG cylinder production and delivery, using independent agencies accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB). Currently, 50 bottling plants have achieved ZKD certification, with others following, ensuring that only high-quality cylinders reach customers.
The initiative reflects BPCL’s commitment to operational excellence, safety, and customer trust. Leadership highlights that ZKD builds on decades of improvements, introducing unprecedented third-party verification to enhance plant operations, quality control, and delivery processes. The programme reinforces rigorous monitoring, quality assurance, and adherence to the highest operational standards.
BPCL positions ZKD alongside its earlier transformative initiatives, including the ‘Pure for Sure’ campaign, demonstrating a continuous drive to integrate technology, innovation, and operational discipline into its business processes. By standardising quality across its network, BPCL strengthens customer confidence and operational reliability while supporting its sustainability and Net Zero Energy ambitions for 2040.
The initiative also underscores the company’s human and operational commitment, involving comprehensive improvements at plant and workforce levels to consistently deliver defect-free cylinders. It highlights BPCL’s focus on efficiency, safety, and continuous operational improvement as central to its growth strategy.
