BH Consulting has announced the launch of BH Haven, a service combining cybersecurity, data protection, AI governance and regulatory support for Irish SMEs. It matters because it packages governance and technical assurance functions SMEs typically cannot afford to build in-house into one ongoing service, rather than leaving them to buy each capability separately.
BH Consulting is a Dublin-based cybersecurity and data protection consultancy led by chief executive Brian Honan, with more than two decades of experience serving an international client base.
BH Haven combines cyber risk assessments, governance frameworks, technical testing, incident response planning, data protection support, AI governance, third-party risk management and regulatory readiness within a single service, offered across four tiers: Foundation, Standard, Professional and Scale.
BH Consulting said the service is augmented by a proprietary AI tool supporting analysis, evidence review, documentation and regulatory mapping, while human oversight and accountability remain with its own consultants throughout.
Honan said: "SMEs face many of the same cyber threats, regulatory obligations and technology challenges as much larger organisations. However, what SMEs generally don't have are the same resources. A large organisation may have a CISO, DPO, risk and compliance teams, and dedicated technical specialists."
He added: "By combining the experience of our consultants with our proprietary AI capabilities, we can make a comprehensive level of governance and technical expertise accessible to SMEs without trying to replicate the cost structure of a large enterprise."
The launch follows research from Munster Technological University and the National Cyber Security Centre identifying a critical cyber resilience gap among Irish SMEs around preparedness, resources and access to expertise.
BH Consulting plans to launch BH Haven first in Ireland and the UK before expanding into the Nordics and other EU markets, expecting the service to support up to 50 additional roles across cybersecurity, compliance and AI governance over three years.
For the sector, packaging governance and technical assurance into tiered, AI-augmented service levels signals that compliance-heavy support functions are increasingly being delivered as scalable managed services rather than one-off consulting engagements.
