UK-headquartered IHG Hotels and Resorts is advancing a structured commercial strategy across its Greater China operations, deploying three core engines — network-wide connectivity, digital intelligence, and collaborative partnership — to deliver more efficient, flexible, and integrated business travel solutions to B2B clients.

Ireland's Travel Trade Network reported that the initiative was showcased at the "Connect 2026" IHG Greater China Expo, held across Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Taipei, reinforcing the group's commitment to operationalising its business travel capabilities at scale.

IHG currently operates more than 900 hotels in Greater China across 13 brands spanning luxury, lifestyle, premium, and essentials segments, enabling it to service business travel, group travel, and meetings and events requirements from a single network.

On the digital side, IHG has deployed a Corporate Travel Portal WeChat mini-programme integrating hotel booking and travel management, a Meetings mini-programme for venue search and online booking, and an AI Operator digital concierge system that automates call handling, task assignment, and guest room coordination.

Rita Jiang, chief commercial and marketing officer at IHG Greater China, said: "The business travel market is expanding, with companies placing greater emphasis on balancing cost control, compliance and employee experience. At the same time, travel management is rapidly moving toward end-to-end digitalization."

Jiang added: "We leverage our three core commercial engines to deliver greater efficiency, stronger collaboration and long-term value for our clients. We continue to invest in advanced technologies and solutions to support effective commercial execution and maximise value for guests, owners and hotel teams."

On the loyalty front, IHG Business Edge supports SMEs with a one-stop digital platform for travel management, while IHG Business Rewards offers B2B clients flexible options and points rewards across business stays, meetings, and group events.
