Medley acquires Recruit Medical Career operations to build AI-powered healthcare HR platform

Japanese recruitment and HR firm Medley has agreed to acquire the medical recruitment business operations of Recruit Medical Career, part of Tokyo-based staffing giant Recruit Holdings, in a move aimed at expanding its healthcare workforce platform and developing AI-driven HR operations across Japan's medical sector.
Staffing Industry Analysts reported that the deal is structured as an absorption-type company split, with Recruit Medical Career transferring its business operations to a newly established subsidiary, RM Career, before all shares are transferred to Medley. The effective date is 3 August 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Recruit Medical Career provides recruitment support services connecting medical facilities — including healthcare institutions and pharmacies — with doctors and pharmacists, offering job seekers workplace information aligned with their specialties and career aspirations.
Following the stock transfer, services provided to both talent and clients will continue as before, with Medley confirming that career advisor assignments will remain unchanged and clients will be informed of any changes to service details or contracts.
Medley stated: "The services offered by Recruit Medical Career and our talent platform business are highly complementary. Through this acquisition, we can leverage our service's ability to attract users and Recruit Medical Career's expertise in recruitment support services to expand our market share in the doctor, pharmacist, and hospital sectors."
The company added that beyond recruitment outsourcing, it aims to develop a BPO business utilising AI and DX (digital transformation) to cover the entire HR operations of medical institutions, positioning the acquisition as a foundation for end-to-end operational transformation across Japan's healthcare workforce management landscape.
Medley's talent platform business is focused on strengthening its presence across the fields of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.
