US AI firm Anthropic has secured 158,000 square feet of office space at Regent's Place in London's Knowledge Quarter, paving the way to grow its UK headcount from over 200 to approximately 800 people, as enterprise demand for its Claude AI platform accelerates across Europe.

MSN reported that the London expansion follows a separate announcement of an additional 200-person expansion in Dublin, reinforcing the company's strategy of building substantial international operational hubs outside its San Francisco headquarters to support commercial and research momentum in Europe.

Claude Code has exceeded $2.5 billion in annualised revenue, more than doubling since the start of the year, while Anthropic counts more than 300,000 enterprise customers globally.

Pip White, head of EMEA North at Anthropic, said: "Europe's largest businesses and fastest-growing startups are choosing Claude, and we're scaling to match. The UK combines ambitious enterprises and institutions that understand what's at stake with AI safety with an exceptional pool of AI talent, we want to be where all of that comes together."

The London team currently includes around 60 AI safety researchers, with the work happening in the city described as sitting at the heart of both the company's research and commercial momentum in Europe.

The new office places Anthropic in the Knowledge Quarter alongside Google DeepMind, Meta, Synthesia, and Wayve, as London continues to emerge as a global AI hub second only to Silicon Valley in strategic importance for major AI firms.

Anthropic also plans to strengthen its collaboration with the UK's AI Security Institute as part of the expansion, with the government body having recently conducted a risk evaluation of the company's Claude Mythos Preview model.
