Operational Excellence in Construction & Engineering

This award recognises organisations operating within the UK's construction and engineering sectors that have demonstrated outstanding operational excellence over the past 12 months. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission. Judges will be looking for clear evidence that your organisation has successfully delivered operational excellence, paying particular attention to the criteria below.

• Organisation Background: Please provide a brief description of your organisation, such as when it was established, the number of employees, the core services and engineering or construction capabilities, relevant industry achievements, certifications or accreditations.
• Operational Efficiency: Please provide a description of the projects, programmes or operational initiatives undertaken over the past 12 months. Outline the steps your organisation took to improve operational performance through enhanced practices, project delivery, operational processes, continuous improvement, or other initiatives. Please include the measurable benefits delivered to your organisation and/or your clients. Please explain how these innovations contributed to improved operational outcomes.
• Innovation: Please include details of any innovative approaches, technologies, or methodologies employed to improve operational performance.This may include (but is not limited to) Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, continuous improvement programmes, digital engineering or digital construction technologies, automation, data-driven decision-making, innovative engineering or construction techniques or new methods of project delivery.
• Quality & Performance Standards: Describe how operational excellence has helped maintain or improve quality, safety, reliability, compliance, or overall project and engineering/construction performance. Include evidence of measurable improvements wherever possible.
• Budgetary Efficiency: Detail how operational excellence has contributed to improved cost management and resource utilisation. This may include reduced operational costs, increased productivity, improved utilisation of people, equipment or resources, reduced waste, more efficient planning and delivery or greater value delivered to clients. Please include measurable results wherever possible
• Supporting Facts & Statements: Please include any additional information that supports your submission, such as performance data and KPIs, client testimonials, case studies, industry recognition or awards, independent assessments, before-and-after performance results or any other evidence demonstrating the impact of your operational excellence initiatives.
