Apple, a US-based technology company, will open its first permanent Dublin office at Park Place later this year with a 300-strong team planned, to complement its 6,000-strong Cork campus which it continues to develop according to a Silicon Republic report.
The new Dublin office will house 300 people and will complement the main Apple Cork Campus. Cathy Kearney, Apple's Vice-President of European Operations, who has long led Apple operations in Ireland, stated the whole team is excited about the development.
Kearney explained that the office will house a range of activities and a mix of different teams, just as with the 6,000-strong Cork team, and stressed that the office will be very much part of the wider Ireland operations rather than a separate entity.
"Our focus to date with the team already there in Dublin is really building the Apple culture, making sure we're starting that office as complementary to Cork. But basically it's one organisation, working for Apple, working for our customers, making sure we're hiring the right talent," she said.
To that end, the existing Dublin team already travels regularly to Cork, meeting colleagues and attending events, whilst the management team spends time with them too. The Cork campus continues to sit at the core of its European operations. Apple's largest location outside the US, it has been more than 45 years since Apple opened its manufacturing facility in Cork with 135 team members.
Today's campus houses 6,000 people, with teams across the business including operations, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, customer support and AppleCare. Back in 2022 Apple further expanded its Hollyhill campus, opening a test and engineering facility responsible for testing and analysing its products.
