Brian is a lecturer at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Sligo which is Ireland’s largest online provider of accredited Lean Six Sigma & OpEx programmes. Brian lectures primarily to online students in the workplace and he developed and co-delivers Ireland's first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Lean Sigma Quality (White Belt).  This free online course launched in 2013 has since been delivered to over 20,000 participants from 50 countries. Over 75% of the participants are from Irish companies who utilise the ATU Sligo White, Yellow & Green Belt courses when implementing Lean & Opex initiatives in their organisation. Brian was recognised for his work in this area as the recipient of an Irish National Teaching Expert award.  In January 2023, Class Central – a leading MOOC website, ranked the ATU Sligo Lean Sigma White Belt (MOOC) as #3 in their global ranking of the ‘10 Best Lean Six Sigma Courses to Take in 2023’ and their #1 global White Belt course.

Brian is a regular contributor of presentations and papers on trends in online higher education particularly as it relates to the use of online learning in helping to up-skill the workforce. He has over 20 years of experience in Operational Excellence and Quality management and has held senior positions at Director and VP level in multinational companies in Europe, USA, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
