Olivia is an Associate Professor at the University of Galway and the course director associated with the Medical Technology Regulatory Affairs (M.Sc. and Higher Cert) programs. She also lectures in Lean and Quality Management. Her research interests are Quality 4.0, Industry 4.0, Lean, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence. She has published and co-authored over 75 journal articles since 2021. She has received awards for her published work from various journals, including Processes (Best Paper 2022), Lean Business Ireland (Best Contribution to Knowledge Paper 2022), and Emerald Publishing (Best Outstanding Paper 2021). She has also been recognised as being one of the top 5 contributing authors to the TQM journal in recent years. She is on the Editorial review board of the International Journal of Lean Six Sigma (IJLSS) and the International Journal of Quality Management (IJQRM). Prior to entering academia, she worked in industry for over 15 years in Operational Excellence and Quality Management roles.
